Samuel R. Chapin is Samuel R. Chapin, 52, was appointed Executive Vice Chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in February 2010. He was named Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch & Co in September 2003 and was a member of the firm’s executive Operating Committee. Previously, Mr. Chapin was Senior Vice President and head of the Global Investment Banking division of Merrill Lynch & Co. from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, he led the group within investment banking responsible for coverage of industrial companies. During his career, he has been active in managing the firm’s relationships with a wide range of clients primarily in the industrial and consumer products industries. He has worked with clients on a broad range of financings and strategic advisory assignments totaling more than $300 billion in value. Investment Dealers’ Digest has named Mr. Chapin Investment Banker of the Year.

Mr. Chapin joined Merrill Lynch in 1984 as a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions group and was named a Managing Director in Corporate Banking in 1993. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Chapin worked for Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, NY for three years in the corporate banking group.

Mr. Chapin received a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Lafayette College, Easton, PA, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He received a Masters in Business Administration, with distinction, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Chapin lives in New York, NY with his wife and two sons, where he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Roundabout Theatre Company, a not-for-profit arts organization. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Lafayette College, a Director for the Wharton Financial Advisory Board and a former member of the Financial Services Roundtable.
