Samuel R. Chapin is Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch & Co. He has been part of their Executive Client Coverage Group since September 2003 and is a member of the firm’s executive Operating Committee. Mr. Chapin has been with Merrill Lynch since 1984 and has held several positions including head of their Global Investment Banking division. During his career, he has been active in managing the firm’s relationships with a wide range of clients and has worked on a broad range of financings and strategic advisory assignments totaling more than $300 billion in value. Investment Dealers’ Digest has named Mr. Chapin Investment Banker of the Year. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Chapin worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in their corporate banking group. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Lafayette College, Easton, PA, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He received a Masters in Business Administration, with distinction, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Chapin resides in New York, NY with his wife and two sons, where he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Roundabout Theatre Company, a not-for-profit arts organization, He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Lafayette College and a member of the Financial Services Roundtable.
