Michael Urkowitz retired from The Chase Manhattan Bank as an executive vice president and member of the Management Committee. From 1996 until his retirement in 2000, Urkowitz was the chief executive for Chase’s credit card business. Previously, Urkowitz established the bank’s global transaction service business (global custody, global cash management, and trade services), and lead it to industry leadership. From 1984 to 1987, Urkowitz was the executive responsible for Chase’s worldwide operations, data processing and telecommunications. Mr. Urkowitz is a former board chairman of the Participants Trust Company, a past board member of The Depository Trust Company, and MasterCard US. He is currently a director of Bank Leumi USA. In 2002, the Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board named Urkowitz to lead a committee of senior financial industry executives to address risks surfaced in the aftermath of 9/11. Mr. Urkowitz is also a senior advisor to Deloitte Consulting.
