Tom Wajnert ’s business career spans forty years. His experience includes leading and governing large publicly-owned companies, engineering a $2 Billion management led LBO and subsequent sale, investing in and developing entrepreneurial opportunities, and providing advisory services. Tom is a Senior Managing director and principal of The Alta Group, a leading global consultancy focused on the equipment finance and leasing industry. He is the retired Founder, Chairman and CEO of AT&T Capital Corporation, a NYSE listed firm with almost $20B in equipment leasing asssets. He recently served as a Senior Advisor to Irving Place Capital Partners, a private equity group with over $6 Billion under management and has an extensive corporate governance experience serving on the Boards of several NYSE listed firms as well as privately owned companies. Tom currently serves on the Boards of 2 publicly owned companies: Reynolds American, the nation’s second largest tobacco company (NYSE, $20B…market cap), where he is the Chairman of the Board;; and UDR, a very large multi family REIT (NYSE, $2B) Chair of the Audit Committee. For the last six years he has also served as the Chairman of privately owned Financial Guaranty Insurance Company

A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology, Tom received his MBA from Southern Methodist University. He resides with his wife, Theresa, in Napa Valley, CA where they own and operate TNT Vineyards.
