The Center's Industry Advisory Board

George Vojta, 1935-2010

The Financial Institutions Center is sad to report the death of the founding Chairman of our Industry Advisory Board, who has served in that capacity since 1994.  We are grateful for the time, energy and insights he provided up to the very end of his life and will miss his valuable contributions and friendship.  We join his family and many friends in celebrating his life and mourning his loss.

The Industry Advisory Board guides the FIC's research and programming efforts. This group of senior executives, who meet formally to provide input to Center management, represents a broad cross-section of the financial services industry.

Board members are drawn from the banking and insurance sectors as well as mutual fund and specialty finance companies They convey an in-depth appreciation of the competitive challenges facing financial services companies in a converging and consolidating environment.

Through ongoing input from industry practitioners, the Center ensures that its activities and research remain focused on business issues and challenges deemed relevant to the industry we serve. As a result of this guidance, the Center has shifted its emphasis from broad, industry-wide projects toward more focused initiatives. This shift in orientation is reflected in our research and in FIC's indsutry forums, which foster discussions on particular research themes.
