Multinational Banking Seminar

Following the increasingly global focus within the industry, the FIC sponsors a number of overseas conferences. For the past eight years the FIC has co-sponsored the Multinational Banking Seminar with Johann-Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt. This seminar brings together leaders of the largest Dutch, German, Swiss and US financial institutions along with key financial regulators and academics to discuss contemporary developments in international banking.

In collaboration with the Center for Financial Studies at the Johann-Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, a conference on the desirability of competition in the banking sector was held in Frankfurt. Another European conference was held jointly with the Tinbergen Institute and the Amsterdam Center for Research in International Finance. The topic of this event was unresolved issues in corporate finance and the theory of the firm.
